The concept of this website actually started back in 2006 as a Yahoo group titled as MiniatureCarCollectors. I have always been an avid model car collector dating back to the early '50's specializing in 1/25th scale kits, friction models and dealer promos. But as is the case with most collectors, those cars in my original collection were customized, some of which very poorly I will add, used for various parts, and as a result the entire collection was dissolved via one means or another.

E-bay did not exist at that time and as fate would have it, I moved into a smaller apartment after returning from the service and going through a divorce. I tried my hand at 1/64th scale which of course took up less room and still gave me the satisfaction of collecting miniature cars. Running short on money, that collection had to be sold but once collecting is in your blood stream, it's a difficult addiction to to deal with.

So started the collecting of 1/43rd scale die casts and I should tell you that some of these cars are absolutely beautiful. Durham Classics , produced in Canada are amazing and the cars from The Goldvarg Collection are nothing short of incredible!

Danbury Mint and Franklin starting sending me offers in the mail which I found very tempting but the costs were prohibitive at the time but later as money started coming in again, I found the temptation to be too much. But there had to be justification! The red and white '56 Ford Sunliner replaced my original 1956 PMC red and white Ford Country Sedan wagon and the Franklin Mint red and white '57 Bel Air was just like my original '57 red and white one produced by SMP. Justification or rationalization? Never was sure which.

Then I found out about this new website called E-bay. I found many of the original cars in 1/25th scale that I had so long ago and thought would never be located again. I found my AMT '53 Ford sedan, the grey '53 Studebaker coupe, and then another one, and and then another one after that. The extremely rare Products Miniature 1957 International Harvester pick up in gold and white as an example!

Now, I have no idea how many cars I have in my collection, but am hoping to do an add on to the house next spring to show case them all behind sliding, lockable glass. But I understand and completely appreciate that other collectors are every bit as avid with again the 1/64th scale, 1/43rd, 1/24th die cast models, 1/18th scale die cast cars and long ago brand names such as Arcade, Barclay, Corgi, Dinky, Hubley, etc.
